Our TouchPad™ sensor can be integrated with Near Field Communications (NFC) antenna so it can be integrate as a single solution. NFC is an emerging technology to enable two devices to interact, this could be a phone in range of a PC or a credit card to authorize a web payment on the PC. Microsoft Windows 8 will feature and simplify such “touch-n-go” interactions and Synaptics TouchPad solutions will be able to support NFC integrated into the TouchPad, solving a challenge in notebooks where PC materials including metals obstruct the NFC signal, making the TouchPad the logical zone for PC based NFC.
