ClearPad 2300 Single Layer Multi-touch

The Synaptics ClearPad 2300 touch controller IC is optimized for use with Synaptics proprietary single-layer sensor pattern and delivers industry-leading 5-finger multi-touch performance using a low-cost, single-layer stackup. ClearPad 2300 is the industry’s first single-layer, multi-touch solution capable of supporting film sensors with industry-standard 150 ohms per square resistance and plastic lenses. This combination provides the lowest overall single-layer solution cost.

ClearPad 2300 lowers smartphone BOM cost by eliminating a layer of patterned ITO and not requiring additional jumpers, while still providing multi-touch capability. Traditional multi-touch sensors use at least two layers of ITO or a single-layer of ITO with jumpers, increasing material and manufacturing costs. Advanced analog front end and noise mitigation firmware algorithms also eliminate the need for a separate shield, resulting in additional cost savings. ClearPad 2300 supports discrete film or glass sensor substrates with plastic or glass lenses and On-Glass-Sensor applications.
