Synaptics' dual pointing solution combines a Synaptics TouchPad solution with a pointing stick into a single notebook computer, allowing consumers to use their interface of choice, and enterprise buyers to offer a single notebook computer that meets both interface requirements. Synaptics offers three dual pointing solutions:

• Resistive Dual Pointing: combines a resistive pointing stick with a Synaptics TouchPad solution.
• Capacitive Dual Pointing: combines Synaptics' capacitive TouchStyk™ module with a Synaptics TouchPad.
• Integrated Dual Pointing Module (IDPM): combines both a TouchStyk and TouchPad solution onto a single module, where the pointing stick is located beneath the space bar in a notebook computer.
