Clearpad

ClearPad

Synaptics ClearPad™ touchscreen solution portfolio offers the broadest and most advanced variety of clear capacitive sensing solutions. A ClearPad touch sensor provides an easy-to-use, discoverable interface for screen navigation, selection, interactive input, and much more. Users activate the underlying graphical user interface buttons and controls by touch on Handheld devices, and now large touch screen devices.

ClickPad

ClickPad

The Synaptics ClickPad™ is a recent, innovative addition to the Synaptics TouchPad™ product line. A ClickPad can be used for scrolling, pointing, navigation, and selection, just like a TouchPad—but a ClickPad eliminates the need for physical buttons. The ClickPad’s button-less design is sleek and intuitive.

InterTouch

Synaptics has designed a new Image Sensing touchpad that can provide full-time tracking of up to 10 fingers simultaneously. This new capability places new demands on the interface between the touchpad and the host -- demands which exceed the capacity of the PS/2 interface. The existing, legacy PS/2 limits bandwidth for utilizing Image Sensor capabilities. Currently, the PS/2 interface constrains Image Sensor to being able to count 4 TouchPad finger contacts and track 2 fingers full-time.

TouchPad for Remote Control

Philips Dual Remote

When the TV is connected to the internet, it opens up a world of new possibilities, and becomes Smart TV. Various content such as video streaming, apps, social networking, video on demand, website browsing, etc., all come to the living room to enrich the digital life. For the first time, users have access to an almost infinite variety of content to view, or even interact with, on their big TV screen. Because of this, it is critical to provide users with intuitive and interactive remote control devices so that they can enjoy this exciting new digital media world. The traditional remote control with keypad just cannot provide the best and most intuitive solution for this new interactive environment.

The TouchPad has been used in Notebook PCs and their interactive User Interface (UI) for many years. Now it is introduced into the remote control device to provide the same kind of flexible and intuitive control needed for the rich UI environment where Smart TV has evolved.

End users are not the only ones to benefit from the TouchPad remote control. Multiple system operators, Digital TV manufacturers, and Digital Media Adapter manufacturers can provide easier access to their rich content offerings and can capitalize on increase use and acceptance of revenue-generating content by designing easy-to-use controls with the TouchPad and gestures.

Synaptics TouchPad for Remote Control provides:

  • Smooth pointing to switch among different applications
  • Enhanced Gesture Recognition™ provides a variety of gestures for advanced UI design
  • Variable shapes and sizes for customized design
  • Reliable and durable products with years of experience on leading capacitive sensing technology
